During the Saturday training, you were asked to find three podcasts. One was of personal interest, one was something you could use in your classroom, and one was to have been done by students. Please post the names of those three podcasts here and a short description of what they were.
My three podcasts: 1. Mommycast - a podcast created by mommy's. And, since I am soon to become one, I thought I might learn something beneficial. :) 2. Teen Health Minute - this is a great podcast that provides health information for teens. 3. New York Times Health Update - This is a very educational podcast that talks about the latest health trends and information.
1. For me -- I usually catch NPR's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me on the radio on the weekends but for those times I miss it I am glad I can get the podcast! I also really enjoy the News Hour with Jim Lehrer but I rarely watch tv; now having the ability to listen to the podcast in the car or during my plan period is awesome. 2. For the classroom -- Scientific American's 60-second Science, it is short, to the point and often topics are related to what we are studying. NOVA's Science NOW and "This Week in Science" are also good because they offer information on current issues in science and they are also both short in length. 3. Made by a student -- The one I liked but isn't totally kid produced is the Freedom Middle School Band Podcast, no they aren't the greatest of musicians but it is fun to listen to them perform.
Okay, I had some trouble at first as my laptop did not have iTunes installed on it. Once that was fixed, I visited several personal podcast. One I found was about mountain biking, "TrailTapes Mountain Biking" and was a videocast. I also went to a podcast created by a grad student at CSU called "MathGrad Podcast" He was taking a major math topic, and trying to relay that to math phobia people. Very interesting to me. At the training, I did not find a podcast that I could use on the following Monday. I did find one about a week later, "Financial Aide Podcast" which discusses current events relating to students getting financial aid for college.

3. Spanish Phrase of the day

This site actually gave me the idea for the song and phrase of the day I am doing weekly now.
